We only collect information strictly necessary to deliver high-quality instruction, calculate student grades, track Sunday School attendance, and administer accounts:

• Parent & Educator Contact Info: Full name, email address, optional phone number, and password/PIN hash for authentication.
• Student Profiles: First name, grade level (e.g. Grade 1, Kindergarten), section, and optional Amharic name for cultural certificates. We do not require social security numbers, physical home addresses, or sensitive health data.
• Academic & Learning Data: Quiz responses, vocabulary practice points, gamified XP, streak counts, homework uploads, and lesson completion status.
• Attendance Logs: Timestamps recorded when teachers scan student mobile QR badges or manually log class participation in Sunday School.
• Technical Logs & Geolocation: IP address, device type, and city/country (used exclusively to detect system errors, monitor capacity, and prevent unauthorized account access).

2. Protection of Children Under 13 (COPPA)

Ethio Wisdom School takes the protection of young children very seriously in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

• Children cannot create independent accounts on their own. All student profiles must be created by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized parish administrator.
• Student profiles do not feature public social media feeds, unrestricted chat rooms, or public search listings.
• Parents may inspect all assignments, quizzes, and attendance records associated with their children through the Parent Dashboard.
• Parents may request immediate deletion of their child's profile and history at any time by emailing support@ethiowisdom.com.

We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical safeguards:

• Encryption in Transit: All communications between your browser, mobile device, and our servers are encrypted using 256-bit SSL/TLS.
• Database Protection: Data is hosted in secure, isolated PostgreSQL database clusters with automated backups, disaster recovery, and continuous threat monitoring.
• Role-Based Access Control: Only authenticated parish teachers, clergy, and verified parents have access to their designated student records.

Our software utilizes essential session cookies and browser LocalStorage to remember your login session, chosen UI preferences, active student tab, and cached offline lesson materials for our Progressive Web App (PWA). We do not deploy third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking beacons.

6. Parental Access, Correction & Deletion Rights

Parents and guardians retain full control over their family data:

• Review: You may log in to review all grades, quiz results, and attendance records for your children at any time.
• Correction: You may edit student profile information or notify your parish administrator of necessary updates.
• Deletion: You may request complete account deletion and data scrubbing by contacting our privacy desk. Requests are processed within 5 business days.
