Scripture (English) Grade 1
Lesson 16: Responding to God’s Blessings: Ten Lepers
Day 16
The Man Who Walked with God
Story Narration
Years and years went by. People lived for a very long time back then"hundreds of years! One of Seth's great-great-great-grandsons was named Enoch.
Enoch was special. While other people were busy doing bad things or forgetting about God, Enoch "walked with God." That means he was best friends with God. He talked to God every day. He listened to God. He lived his life right next to God.
One day, something amazing happened. Enoch didn't die like everyone else. The Bible says, "he was not, for God took him." God loved Enoch's company so much that He just brought him straight up to heaven to be with Him forever!
Orthodox Theological Explanation
Walking with God is a beautiful way to describe living a Christian life. When you go for a walk with your best friend, you talk, you stay close, and you go in the same direction. That is what Enoch did with God.
Enoch is one of only two people in the whole Bible who went to heaven without dying (the other is Elijah). This shows us that God rewards those who seek Him. It reminds us that this world is not our final home; being with God is the ultimate goal.
Daily Christian Application
You can "walk with God" today by praying while you walk to school, or by thinking about Him while you play.
Key Takeaways
- ★ "Walking with God" means having a close friendship with Him.

Like the Samaritan leper, they can be encouraged to recognize and express gratitude for the blessings they receive, whether big or small. 2. Obedience: Children can also learn the importance of obeying God's commands. The lepers were healed as they obeyed Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ' instructions to show themselves to the priests, demonstrating the connection between obedience and blessing.
