Scripture (English) Grade 1
Lesson 11: The Holy Spirit: Gift & Blessing to Mankind
Day 11
The Sad Goodbye
Story Narration
Because Adam and Eve listened to the snake instead of God, things had to change. The beautiful garden was perfect, but sin had made Adam and Eve's hearts imperfect. They couldn't stay in God's holy garden anymore.
God was sad, and Adam and Eve were sad. But even then, God showed them how much He loved them. Their leaf clothes weren't good enough, so God made them warm, strong clothes from animal skins.
Before they left, God made a promise to the snake. He said, "One day, a child will be born who will crush your head, even though you will bite his heel." This was a mysterious secret code. God was promising that one day, a Rescuer (Jesus) would come to fix the mess the snake had made.
Then, with heavy hearts, Adam and Eve walked out of the garden. An angel with a flaming sword stood at the gate to keep the way to the Tree of Life safe.
Orthodox Theological Explanation
This is a tough day in the Bible. Its the moment humans lost their perfect home. Because God is holy (perfectly good), He cannot live alongside sin. So, Adam and Eve had to leave.
But look at what God did before they left. He made them clothes. This was the very first sacrifice. God provided coverage for their shame. This shows us that even when we make mistakes and face consequences, God still takes care of us.
The most amazing part is the "Secret Code" promise. God hinted that one day, someone would defeat the enemy. We know now that He was talking about Jesus! Even on the worst day in history, God was already planning the rescue mission.
Daily Christian Application
Even when you make a big mistake and have to face a sad consequence, remember that God never stops loving you or planning for your good. Just like He made warm clothes for Adam and Eve even as they left the garden, He is always taking care of you and providing exactly what you need. You can trust that God’s plan is bigger than any bad day you might have because He is the God of the "rescue mission." When things feel hard, take a moment to thank God for sending Jesus to be our forever Rescuer who brings us back close to Him. Knowing that God is always on your side will help you be brave even when you have to start over in a new or different situation.

Parallel Verses & Holy Scripture
Genesis 3:21-24 21 The LORD God made coats of skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them. 22 The LORD God said, Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever... 23 Therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 3:15 "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel."
